Ireland and Gaza aka Palestinians, both share a history of getting fucked over by the colonial power that once was England. So no surprise there. Fact is a big part of todays problem directly relates to that old colonial/imperial nation of England and how essentially they ignored the local majority population of Palestinians before Israel was created and favored European Jews who were being relocated to the Holy Land. People who BTW, were not native to this region. So it's pretty easy to call it a modern day colonial experiment gone off the rails. Had the U.N. created two separate nations "Israel and Palestine" at the same time, we might not be where we're at in 2024. And then there is that annoying little fact that Bibi is directly responsible for supporting and propping up Hamas. (As a mean's of thwarting a 2 state solution) It's not just Hamas who does not want peace. The Irish experienced tremendous oppression over hundreds of years. Resistance to tranny is baked into our souls. And the perception of Israel's apartheid state oppressing a captive Palestinian population stirs that resistance. The Irish were held prisoner in their own country under British rule. This whole idea that Israel is defending itself is preposterous. They are cracking down on the prison riot of Oct 7th and in essence are using that prison riot as an excuse for genocide. So lets get real, it never was about defense, it was always about an easy excuse to rid themselves of the "Palestinian Problem" In my case Biden's unwavering support for a genocidal lunatic like Netanyahu is cause for my leaving the Democratic Party and registering as an independent. So, it's not a Jewish Problem for the Irish, it's the radical zionist zealots who are in charge in Israel now. They are most certainly a problem, both for Palestine and for moderate and Liberal Israelis and Jews through out the world, because the longer this goes on the less safe they will be and that includes a lot of my friends. The Irish somehow managed a peaceful solution to the troubles in the North, so naturally we feel that if "We can do it, so can others" But only if there is a real desire for peace.
